half-painted planks
want to fall down

hesitant to leave
this empty parking lot
memories of her

their use is almost over
true love..needs no sound

urban poetry
while pigeons fly from garage
girl shoulders her bag

taking the secret
passageway i
lean against the bricks think
my thoughts

anxious..
at car window
…doggie eyes

high st. calm
close to the pearl st.
bustle

cilantro..
in it's smell
…water drops

in some office a
bored security guard
is watching me
write this poem

an unseen curb
takes her down
like a stone buddha
in a lotus pond

tea..
in it's warmth
..the subliminal

red-wheeled carriage
central station heroes
on the top rung

if you're so afraid
mr. blinky scarlet
beady eyes, why
did you fly
in a circle?

unsuccessful
at pulling her wheelchair out
she yells at him

cheeks..
glowing' in the sun
…her fat

makes me nostalgic

peaceful parking lot
surrounding him as he slops
hot grease into can

out by the dumpsters
and thin winter sunshine
scattered cigarette butts

same mountain..
yet again
…same stare

(the following three by Sara, who was down in the Caribbean):
bending down to peer
into what I am reading
bougainvillea vine

spotting old red car
cactus swirls bravely upward
camera promptly dies

cancel snorkeling
even leisure activities
feel like too much
